At PDD South, we believe everyone counts. We also believe in building communities that honour and respect the dignity and equal worth of citizens with developmental disabilities. We are driven by a vision of inclusion that recognizes the ability of every person to contribute to and grow in the communities in which we live.
Adults with developmental disabilities have the right to fulfilling lives, just like any other person. By working together with individuals, their families or guardians, service providers and other community organizations, we help individuals to create opportunities that will enhance their lives in meaningful and enduring ways.
We work to ensure people with developmental disabilities:
- Have the same rights and responsibilities as other people
- Have jobs
- Have friends
- Have homes in the community
- Take part in their community
- Choose the kind of help they want
- Have control and choice in the activities of their daily lives
- Have every opportunity to realize their dreams
