Welcome to the South Alberta Community Board, Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PPD South) website. We are a provincially-funded organization whose mandate is to ensure that adults with developmental disabilities living in southern Alberta communities get the support and services they need to live full and independent lives.
PDD South was created in 1997 under the Community Governance Act. Under the Act, each region has a board. Our Community Board has nine volunteer members. Some of these are parents of persons with developmental disabilities while others are members of the community who offer valuable expertise in different areas such as finance, business or community organizations.
We believe in a community where everyone belongs and has a role, and that includes people with developmental disabilities. Our team works hard to help individuals and their families or guardians to create opportunities that allow them to work and take part in their communities and to enjoy the same rights and responsibilities as other Albertans.
Our PDD South Team includes:
Our regional team provides supports from two offices in Southern Alberta. One is located in Lethbridge and the other in Medicine Hat.
